Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical & Plumbing Subcontractor Project Manager to lead field operations and manage the execution of mechanical and plumbing scopes on commercial, institutional, and healthcare construction projects. This role requires a strong technical background in plumbing systems, hands-on coordination with general contractors and other trades, and the ability to manage procurement and installation timelines effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Project Management: Oversee mechanical and plumbing scopes from mobilization through closeout, ensuring quality installation, code compliance, and schedule adherence.
Trade Coordination: Collaborate directly with general contractors, other subcontractors, and vendors to ensure seamless integration of plumbing and mechanical systems.
Takeoffs & Estimating: Perform detailed plumbing system takeoffs; assist in scope development and budget preparation based on construction documents.
Drawing Review & Markups: Utilize Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and other tools to review plans, identify conflicts, and mark up changes for field implementation.
Procurement & Long-Lead Planning: Identify long-lead plumbing items (e.g., fixtures, medical gas components), manage procurement schedules, and coordinate deliveries.
Team Oversight: Supervise field crews and subcontracted labor, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project timelines.
Client & GC Interface: Act as the primary point of contact for project-specific coordination with general contractors, owners, and design teams.
Quality Control: Conduct inspections and ensure installations meet specifications for domestic water, sanitary, storm, gas, and medical gas systems.

Skills and Requirements
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience.
2–5 years of hands-on experience managing mechanical and plumbing scopes on construction projects (new builds, renovations, healthcare, commercial, or institutional).
Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and other construction documentation tools.
Strong understanding of plumbing system components, installation methods, and estimating practices.
Proven ability to manage field operations, coordinate trades, and maintain project schedules.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
