• Network Engineer - Cisco to Juniper

    Job Description

    Insight Global is looking for a Network Engineer with expertise in voice elements from Cisco 7613’s to Juniper MX960s to assist with their migration from Cisco to Juniper. This person should have a strong background in Juniper (preferably JNCIA or higher), an ability to create methods of procedure to be followed and have an in-depth knowledge of BGP and cloud provider connections. The migration effort will include project meetings, coordination with peers, configuration validation, cabling and port validation, migration document per site, and maintenance window support. This candidate will spend the 6-8 weeks familiarizing themselves with the environment, then begin to create the technical documentation. The project is expected to last 6-months with likely extensions.

    Skills and Requirements

    • Hands-on experience with configurations and upgrades of Juniper

    • Experience migrating Voice elements from Cisco 7613’s to Juniper MX960s

    • JNCIA certified

    • Demonstrated experience creating MOPs for upgrades and migrations

    • Thorough working knowledge of BGP Routing protocol

    • Comfortability with occasional overnight maintenance window work
