    Job Summary:

    ACCOUNTABILITIES

    *All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise*

    + Promotes workplace health, safety and worker productivity by providing clinical, occupational medicine services.

    + Remains up-to-date with current occupational medicine trends, rules and regulations.

    + Demonstrates competence in occupational health nursing skills, such as vaccine administration, alcohol and drug testing, health assessment and worker assignment.

    + Performs employer/employee education at time of hire and on a regular or as-needed basis.

    + Provides injury management services to injured workers including medical referral, self-care instructions, and guidance on employer/administrative concerns.

    + Participates, consults and advises with employer departments (Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, etc.) in program design, implementation, management and/or tracking of employee safety and health programs such as, but not limited to: Respiratory Protection Program (RPP), Respiratory questionnaires, Employee/position assessment, Management of employee participation in respirator training and fit testing, Vaccinations, Bloodborne Pathogen Program (BPP), Medical Surveillance - Hazardous Drugs Program, Infection Protection and Control Program (IPC), Tuberculosis, Covid-19, Shingles, Meningitis, Pertussis, Hearing Conservation Program, Employee Wellness Program, Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT)/Urine Drug Screening (UDS) Programs, Ergonomic Safety and Wellness Program, Employee Physicals

    + Accesses and collaborates with related disciplines to detect and respond to suspected worker exposures and outbreaks.

    + Advises international travelers on safety standards and measures related to travel.

    + Advocates for employee wellness to be aligned with employer initiatives and may lead in promotion and implementation of employee wellness programs.

    + Serves as a community health liaison, assisting in planning and staffing community health initiatives, to meet strategic goals related to Community chapter.

    + Maintains employee health files for all staff members, maintaining required documents per established employer or agency requirements, with accuracy and timely completion.

    + Enters all required employee data in electronic medical records system and shares data, as appropriate with employer, State or Federal agency, in adherences to all patient privacy standards.

    + May participate in ordering equipment, supplies, tests or provision of care, improving employee safety and productivity, maximizing employee care and employer Return-On-Investment (ROI).

    + Reports and records employee work-related injuries and illnesses. Works with HR and other areas of organization to complete employee injury recording and reporting, as requested. Including, but not limited to OSHA, Department of Health, JCAHO, etc.

    + Serves as a resource on various employer committees and sub-committees, such as employee safety, IP&C, etc. as requested.

    + Pursues professional development in occupational medicine nursing through participation in continuing education programs, department meetings and literature review.

    + Performs chart audits as required by employer and/or State and Federal entities.

    + Performs other duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    **Education** : High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of approved School of Nursing for Registered Nurse. Valid license to practice nursing in the appropriate state.

    **Skills** : N/A

    **Years of Experience:** Minimum of one (1) year previous nursing experience required.

    **License** : Registered Nurse in the appropriate State.

    **Certification** : Basic Life Support (BLS).

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    **Education** : High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of approved School of Nursing for Registered Nurse. Valid license to practice nursing in the appropriate state.

     

    Skills** : Previous Occupational Medicine or Emergency Room experience **.

     

    **Years of Experience** : Minimum of three (3) years previous nursing experience.

    **License** : Registered Nurse in the appropriate State.

    **Certification** : ALS, UDS/BAT, Spirometry, Hearing Conservation, Vision, PFT.

    **Physical Demands:** : Must be able to read and speak the English language. Must be able to see, hear, and move intermittently throughout the work day, or use prosthetics so assure that the requirements of the position can be fully met. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. Significant sitting and standing to use computer, telephone, or operate copier. May be subject to long and/or irregular hours. May be exposed to infection/contagious disease. Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens from blood and/or bodily fluids.
