COMPENSATION INFORMATION
The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time. While we strive to provide competitive and transparent compensation, there may be circumstances where an offer is above or outside of the listed range. We are open to discussing salary expectations with qualified candidates considering factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location will all be considered during the hiring process.
+ Tarriff Service Specialist II - Pay Range: $ 68,600 - $ 85,750
+ Tariff Service Specialist III – Pay Range: $ 76,000 - $ 96,900
+ Sr Tariff Service Specialist - Pay Range: $ 85,800 - $ 109,450
Join our team as a Generation Interconnection Tariff Services Specialist!
The Generation Interconnection Tariff Services Specialist is a highly independent and influential role responsible for driving best practices in the administration and analysis of Generation Interconnection Studies. You will contribute directly to critical business functions, lead and mentor teams, and engage with stakeholders, regulators, and internal departments.
This position plays a key role in interpreting, applying, and improving the processes that govern generator interconnection under the SPP Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT), while working with minimal supervision in a complex, stakeholder-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
+ **Coordinate Generation Interconnection Processes:** Oversee, participate in and improve the administration of Generator Interconnection Studies, ensuring alignment with SPP’s Tariff and regulatory requirements.
+ **Mentor and Guide Staff:** Provide leadership, mentorship, and oversight to junior and senior team members; promote best practices and continuous improvement.
+ **Coordinate with Stakeholders:** Act as a primary liaison with internal departments, Transmission Owners, consultants, and customers; lead meetings and stakeholder interactions.
+ **Manage Projects and Studies:** Independently develop scopes, schedules, and manage study deliverables, including technical and financial analyses.
+ **Ensure Governance and Compliance:** Interpret and apply governing documents (SPP Tariff, FERC rules, etc.), and lead process and policy improvements.
+ **Drive Automation and Innovation:** Recommend and lead automation of queue and process management systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
+ **Communicate Effectively:** Prepare and present detailed reports, recommendations, and analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences.
To be successful as the Generation Interconnection Tariff Services Specialist we're looking for:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field or equivalent experience
+ Tarriff Service Specialist II Two (2) years of experience in the electrical industry or related experience
+ Tariff Service Specialist III - Five (5) years of experience in the electrical industry or related experience
+ Sr Tariff Service Specialist - Seven (7) years of job-related work experience
+ Strong inter-personal and teamwork skills
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Proficiency with communication and data handling software such as Microsoft Office© Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Preferred:
+ Experience in the electric utility industry, database management systems, data analysis and ad hoc report writing
+ Experience with advanced decision-making in a multi-client environment
+ Familiarity of one or more power systems analysis tools applicable to power system steady state, dynamic, production costs & economics, or database management systems.
+ Advanced degree in related field of study
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
+ This is a full-time position. Days and hours of the workweek are Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Working extended hours may be required.
Travel Requirement:
+ This position requires moderate travel (approximately 10-15%)
