Role Summary
The Senior Manager of Analytics is responsible for analytics strategy, data science, and business intelligence reporting across Alaska Airlines. As a people leader, this manager leads and establishes priorities for a team of Business Intelligence Mangers, Data Scientists, and Analysts who provide all aspects of business intelligence, advanced analytic modelling, and analysis to business stakeholders in order to drive performance, growth, and profitability.
Key Duties
+ Leads team and establishes priorities to execute on strategy utilizing advanced analytic and data science methods to deliver substantial business value.
+ Shapes overall business intelligence and data strategy and drives execution through divisional management systems and reporting.
+ Owns and drives development of divisional management systems to ensure that organizational goals and performance oversight are accurate, actionable, and consistent within divisions.
+ Influences across senior leadership on the creation of roadmap and specific strategies to leverage analytics and data science methods to drive value creation.
+ Oversees the creation and accuracy of revenue forecast and creates alignment and trust with stakeholders to drive meaningful actions from the forecast.
+ Closely partners with technology leaders on overall strategy and direction of enterprise data strategy and technology roadmap.
+ Collaborates with technology teams on approach and execution of advanced analytics within the technology portfolio.
+ Develops people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on delegation for stretch assignments, growing and developing the team for capacity and growth, looking at performance across the team and time management.
+ Oversees advanced research and analytic projects and presents findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
+ Incorporates AGILE and software development methods with technology business units in order to deploy production-level analytic solutions.
+ Shape culture of team through action, presence and reinforcement of behaviors.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
+ 7 years of experience in data science, business intelligence, or related analytics.
+ 4 years of leadership experience, with at least some of this experience directly leading people.
+ Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Administration or related fields, or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree.
+ Demonstrated experience in developing teams and building strong stakeholder relationships.
+ Experience with process design and AGILE practices.
+ Experience with operations research techniques (Monte Carlo, Markov Chain, queuing theory, etc.).
+ Experience with version control software and tools (Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps).
+ Proven knowledge working with relational databases including design, structure, and database management functions.
+ Demonstrated experience working with large, complex data sets and disparate data sources across various platforms.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Minimum age of 18.
+ Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
+ Master’s degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, information systems or another quantitative field.
+ Master’s in Business Administration.
+ Experience with Azure or other cloud providers.
+ Proficiency using Databricks for data engineering, modeling, and deployment.
+ Experience with distributed computing platforms (Hadoop, Apache Spark, Pig, Hive, etc.).
+ Experience with statistics/machine learning packages such as Spark MLlib, Python (scikit-learn, pandas, numpy, scipy, Matplotlib), Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch etc.
+ Advanced SQL skills.
+ Demonstrated experience working with NoSQL data sources.
+ Proven proficiency in visualization techniques, dashboard design, decision support tools, and automation, with experience using data visualization tools.
+ Proven proficiency in programming languages.
+ Excellent communication skills, including experience presenting to executive level leadership and communicating complex ideas in an understandable manner to management.

Salary Range
$165,500 - $256,550 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees. Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
**Note:** We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
