    Job Overview

    This position works closely with Sales, News, and Creative Services teams to create concepts, scripts, and visuals for client commercials and station promotions. The Creative Services Producer-Editor attempts to solve issues and create solutions.

    Job Responsibilities

    + Create commercials, station-promotions, public service announcements and event promotions by conceptualizing and writing assigned projects. Projects include client commercials, proof of brand and tune-in spots, promotables, station brand and other strategic promotions.

    + Assists with day-to-day communication, scripts revisions, brainstorming, and troubleshooting.

    + Travels to area locations for the purpose of meeting with clients and scouting locations (to include promo related shoots).

    + Works cooperatively and collaboratively with traffic, news, and sales departments to ensure that client sessions and productions are completed on time and in a quality manner.

    + Involved in the workflow of projects with Creative Services, News, and Sales management.

    + Helps identify challenges to keep projects moving ahead to completion while meeting all assigned deadlines. Communicate any issues or problems to the Creative Services team that may require immediate resolution and attention. Offers input when requested to Creative Services, News, and Sales Management during review period for Creative Services producers, News producers/talent, and Sales Account Executives.

    + Promo fill and maintain Wide Orbit Traffic logs as assigned.

    + Build effective working relationships with co-workers in same and different departments, customers, vendors, and the public.

    + Complete other duties as requested and needed.

    Qualifications

    + College degree in Mass Communications or comparable experience.

    + Minimum of 2 years' experience in commercial production.

    + Excellent creative writing skills.

    + Experience in field and in-studio camera operation and non-linear editing.

    + Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

    + Excellent customer service and communication skills.

    + Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Media Encoder).

    + Graphic Design experience. Ross Xpression graphics experience preferred.

    + Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and additional hours as needed.

    + Must have a valid New York State driver’s license or apply for one within 30 days of relocating to Rochester, New York, consistent with NYS motor vehicle law. You must also have a safe driving history as determined by the Company. Driving record will be checked before hire and annually.

    Additional Information

    This position is subject to pre-employment driving record background check. A conviction, violation pending adjudication, or adverse driving record more than 3 years old or does not meet the major violation definition per company policy will not, on its own, disqualify an applicant. The company will use background check information in a confidential, non-discriminatory manner consistent with applicable federal, state and local law.

    Compensation and Benefits

    When extending an offer, the company considers a variety of factors such as (but not limited to) the candidate's work experience, education/training & key skills as well as internal peer equity and other market and business considerations. The hourly range for this position is $19.00 to $21.60 per hour.
