A Brief Overview
Responsible for all aspects of departments (Food Service, Gift Shop, Salon Services, Chaplaincy and Activities). Establish goals, objectives, standards of performance, and develop policies/procedures. Responsible for the overall daily operations, to assure quality services to residents, tenants, and guests.
What you will do
+ Provides for the analysis, collection and maintenance of records as needed by CMS, SD Health Department, Quality Improvement, Dept. Of Labor and OSHA guidelines or as may be required by law.
+ Assists in the preparation of the departmental annual budget. Assists with appropriate action to assure that budgeted objectives are achieved and that cost and expense objectives are met.
+ Selects, develops, and motivates subordinates processing sufficient depth, breadth, and technical expertise to accomplish department objectives and to ensure the capability of assuming progressively more responsible positions within the facility. Evaluate performance of subordinates, detect unsatisfactory trends and performance deficiencies and initiate necessary corrective action and development actions and plans working closely with the Human Resource Department. Consults with the Administrator when solving operational problems and design methods and procedures to improve the efficiency, productivity and control of these operations.
+ Identifies and recommends changes in departmental policies, plans or programs as they affect the morale, attitude and retention of employees.
+ Assists the Administrator with completion of immediate and future goals/objectives for the departments (Food Service, Gift Shop, Salon Services, Chaplaincy and Activities). Oversees the scheduling process and maintains appropriate staffing levels to maximize department efficiencies.
+ Performs an accurate assessment within a timely manner of the residents' nutritional status including, but not limited to: obtaining and interpreting information in terms of the resident's nutritional needs, resident/family level of knowledge and readiness to learn about nutrition requirements
+ Documents the assessment on the resident's record in a complete and concise manner. Develops an individualized nutritional care plan specific to resident needs. Documents implementation of care plan.
+ Demonstrates ability to provide instruction to residents/family based on assessment of needs and initiates recommendations to physicians. Correlates and interprets changes in resident's nutritional progress to all necessary health care team members. Documents and evaluates resident responses to nutritional care. Communicates resident's nutritional progress to all necessary health care team members.
+ Participates in any construction/facility upgrades. Coordinates activities of the activities and chaplaincy departments.
+ Performs cash deposits, reconciliation and updates of CBORD retail management system. Performs Payroll Based Journal (PBJ) submissions and audits.
+ Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
+ Associate's or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP) - Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals Upon Hire
+ ServSafe Certificate - National Restaurant Association within 1 Year
