    Outage Coordinator

     

    Colorado Springs Utilities seeks an Outage Coordinator to join our Outage Project Management Team. In this role, you will manage energy plant outages, plan projects, and provide project management services to the entire organization's energy plant needs to ensure successful delivery within scope, budget, and schedule. Some of how you will make an impact include:

     

    + Managing, monitoring, and reporting on outage-related project progress

    + Collaborating with technical experts and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, resources, and resource requirements for outage compliance

    + Planning and executing timelines and project work scope to incorporate all stakeholders, including crafts, planning, engineering, safety and health, and project management

    + Providing oversight to current and new contracts involved in plant processes

    + Participating in strategic planning for current and future power generation

    + Developing processes and procedures for managing outages and asset availability throughout the organization (e.g., plants, transmission)

    + Coordinating work order planning of projects to assist with outage coordination

    The following knowledge, skills, and expertise are valued for this position:

    + Experience in plant operations and/or plant maintenance

    + Experience with outage management and coordination

    + A degree in Project Management, Business, Marketing, Finance, or a closely related field - OR job experience specific to project management instead of a degree

    + Possession of project management-related certifications

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

    + Exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a small amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those required for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a small amount, a job should be rated Light Work when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree or when it requires sitting most of the time, but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls and/or when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is small. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding work, even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
