    Work Locations: Chattanooga, Knoxville, Nashville, Memphis, TN; Starkville, Tupelo, MS; Huntsville, Muscle Shoals, AL.

    Accountinginterns will gain real world accounting through a variety of different functions which could include supporting TVA’s financial transactions including payroll, disbursements, revenue and maintenance of related financial systems, financial close process, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting and capital project planning.

     

    Financeinterns will learn from TVA’s financial experts and contribute to the management of TVA’s cash flow, liquidity management and asset investment. Examples of tasks could include interpreting financial data to assist TVA in making informed financial decisions and assessment and prioritization of enterprise risks and mitigation plans.

     

    Preferred majors: Accounting, Finance

    Position Purpose:

    Intern will develop an understanding of the assigned business unit, as it relates to its functional purpose and will learn standard work, strategies, philosophies, programs, and initiatives within the organization.

    Principal Accountabilities:

    Example duties include:

    + Become familiar with the TVA business, organization, key decision makers, business processes and procedures. The intern will have the opportunity to interact with leaders and team members while learning the key components that drive their business unit’s strategic direction.

    + Develop working knowledge of critical business functions as outlined by the intern’s manager and business unit.

    + Learn to apply policies and procedures across the organizations: recommend continuous improvement changes in support of business needs and proactively develop an understanding of policies, procedures, and culture and communicate these to new and existing employees.

    Education:

    Seeking majors in Engineering disciplines, Data Analytics, Business-related disciplines, Computer Science/IT, and other related degrees.

     

    Mustbe currently enrolled in a college/university program at the time of internship.

     

    Musthave 30 semester hours completed.
