Position Summary
As a Pilot Plant Technician you will execute small scale pilot production to support Research & Development product design, improvements and quality trials in battery innovation developing strong relationships with cross-functional partners and have experience with standard work procedures and chemical safety in a lab setting. The right candidate is a self-starter who works well with their hands, develops a deep understanding of the equipment and processes, and can collaborate with a team of scientists and peers to deliver consistent products for this fast-paced business.
Responsibilities
+ Practices proper safety procedures. Recognize, report and document unsafe acts or conditions
+ Performs and executes routine and non-routine small scale production trials
+ Uses appropriate materials and equipment and understands their principles of use or operation
+ Receives training in order to independently operate and maintain basic equipment in assigned area
+ Troubleshoots issues with trials and work cross functionally with internal team to resolve challenges
+ Coordinates work with coworkers and interfaces with other R&D product groups, equipment, and service groups to acquire the information and services necessary to execute assigned trials and tasks
+ Uses machines and equipment to process chemicals and raw materials into finished products
+ Collects, records and transcribes routine and non-routine data in multiple software databases
+ Provides real time results and feedback to customers
+ Maintains housekeeping standards and 5S standards
+ Performs LOTO (lock out tag out) on applicable equipment and maintain authorization with annual training
+ Participates in department continuous improvement activities
+ Serves as an ad hoc team member as required
+ Understands basic principles of products and/or devices in assigned area
+ Trains and instructs others to perform routine and non-routine tasks
+ Creates training documentation
+ Creates safety documentation
+ May also perform additional duties as assigned
What we are looking for
+ Minimum 1 year of general science or engineering college coursework or equivalent experience/education
+ Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks requiring the use of hands, standing for extended periods of time, and lifting up to 35 lbs
+ Good fundamental understanding of higher-level mathematics, mechanics, general science, and general computer applications
+ Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office applications
+ Research and Development pilot production setting Monday-Friday, day shift, occasionally schedule may vary from typical business hours
+ Exposure to health risks or conditions may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including the use of a respirator
What we prefer
+ Associates degree or higher in physical sciences (example: chemistry, physics) or engineering
+ Minimum 2 years of demonstrated related experience in a technical laboratory, industrial manufacturing, or similar environment

Total Rewards Package
The salary range for this position is USD $47,000.00/Yr. - USD $54,100.00/Yr.
Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
