The Electronic Control Hardware Team is responsible for development of high-quality electronic control module (ECM/ECU) product lines for engine, machine, and power distribution systems that meet complex requirements and low-cost producer (LCP) targets. Partner with suppliers to deliver production components and help the systems engineers integrate successfully into various applications.
What You Will Do:
+ Develops, improves, and troubleshoots electronic/electrical hardware used in an array of engine and machine systems.
+ Development of product requirements, analysis and simulation, electronic component selection, schematic/layout review, and platform verification and validation. Some or all of these activities may be performed in partnership with a supplier including the manufacturing plan and process development.
+ Advanced troubleshooting and analysis to resolve complex development and field issues and to improve overall performance and cost.
+ Collaboration with global Caterpillar component, software, systems, and procurement teams as well as suppliers in multiple geographic regions
+ Mentoring of other engineers on the ECM hardware team
Degree Requirement
+ Requires a degree in an accredited Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering curriculum.

+ **Electronics Engineering - HTH:** Knowledge of electronics engineering; ability to design, test and manufacture electronic circuits, components and devices.
+ **Reliability Management - HTH:** Knowledge of reliability management; ability to utilize various tools, techniques, methodologies and metrics to meet and manage hardware product performance and reliability objectives.
+ **Supplier Management - MFG:** Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
Considerations For Top Candidates:
+ Master’s degree in accredited Electrical Engineering Curriculum
+ Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience with analog and power supply designs including complex circuity analysis and schematic/board layout reviews.
+ Experience developing test plans and analyzing results for complex electronic control units
+ Knowledge of the New Product Introduction Process and New Technology Introduction Process
+ Must have the ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the workgroup, as well as employees in other units, customers, and suppliers.
Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
