    Responsibilities

    Noblis is assisting a federal agency with multiple software research and development initiatives which have the potential to improve service to the agency and public while lowering operational costs. Our client has a critical role in the US economy and the initiatives this work supports are national in scope and impact. We are seeking an experienced professional in database administration who is responsible for managing and maintaining databases to ensure data integrity, availability, and security and ensure program success through:

     

    + Install and configure database software including upgrading, patching and migration.

    + Design and implement database schemas and structures.

    + Optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and database tuning.

    + Serve as the Data Solution Expert to advise the development team through the entire life cycle of system development.

    + System Capacity Planning, proactively monitor and anticipate the growth of system load and provide recommendation on system resource procurement.

    + Troubleshoot and determine root cause by working with team - system admin, network admin and development team.

    + Design and Implement Data Loading, Import and Export, Transformation.

    + Develop and maintain documentation and guidelines for database operations and best practices.

    + Implement and maintain security controls, manage user permissions, and protect sensitive data from unauthorized access.

    Required Qualifications

    The candidate should possess:

    + Bachelors in Computer Science or similar

    + 5+ years of experience

    + U.S. citizen / green card with 3+ years of U.S. residency

    + Contingent on ability to obtain and maintain a public trust

    + On-site at Merrifield, VA.

    + Oracle RDBMS

    Desired Qualifications

    + Experience with Oracle RDBMS Performance Analysis and Optimization, SGA/PGA, REDO/UNDO, Partitioning

    + Experience with OLTP / OLAP System Tuning

    + Experience with Ad-hoc Reporting

    + Experience with DTL / DLT Data Loading, import/export

    + Experience with SQL DML/DDL - Query Troubleshooting, Execution Plan Analysis and Optimization

    + Familiar with System Capacity Planning

    + Familiar with Relational Normalizing / De-normalizing for High Performance System

    + Familiar with Index Tuning / Analysis

    Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.

     

    Posted Salary Range

     

    USD $78,900.00 - USD $123,300.00 /Yr.
