    Your Responsibilities

    As a **Safety Manager** for **John Deere Turf Care** located in **Fuquay Varina** , **NC** , you will plan, design, implement and evaluate health and safety management programs and processes to promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all appropriate laws, regulations and standards at a manufacturing facility with assembly and other industrial operations. In addition, you will:

     

    + Report directly to the Factory Manager and will be a member of the Factory leadership staff

    + Prepare strategic and tactical plans as required to meet company goals around compliance and injury reduction

    + Analyze appropriate health and safety metrics to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement

    + Conduct and lead periodic inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective action assurance.

    + Manage processes for workers compensation case management and return to work programs

    + Establish, maintain and deliver safety education and training for all employees

    + Act as a liaison with external regulatory agencies and safety suppliers

    + Collaborate with other stakeholders to reduce process risk and improve ergonomics

    What Skills You Need

    + Ability to to work Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm, with occasional Fridays as needed

    + 5 or more years of experience in manufacturing processes and factory operations

    + Experience in leading diverse teams

    + Skilled in analytical problem solving

    + Ability to travel up to 25%

    What Makes You Standout

    + Knowledge of governmental/agency regulatory requirements or legislation

    + Understanding of occupational health, safety, industrial hygiene and ergonomic principles

    + Knowledge of worker's compensation laws and regulations

    + Strong leader, with passion for leading in a manufacturing environment

    + Experience with high volume manufacturing and distribution

    + Ability to utilize interpersonal skills with broad and diverse team of stakeholders, and peers to drive collaborative work environment

    + Proven history of delivering sustainable operational improvements

    + Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation preferred

    Education

    Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience:

    + Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

    + Master’s degree in a Science or Business Administration discipline is preferred
