    _The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule_ **_YEAR-ROUND_** _._

    Your Responsibilities

    As a **Part Time Student - Software Engineering** for **John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group** located in **Urbandale, IA Ames ,IA** you will be responsible for:

    + Work on Setup applications such as Land Manager, Setup Builder, and Path Planning.

    + These applications help our Ag customers prepare for Tillage, Planting, Spraying, and Harvesting field work through management of Fields, Guidance, and Boundaries.

    + You will primarily work on front-end development using JavaScript and React with additional opportunity for back-end API development using Java.

    + Responsibilities include:

    + Developing and supporting high quality John Deere agronomic web applications using React

    + Engaging in all aspects of the software delivery cycle including the design, build, test, deploy, and support of software applications

    + Collaborating with Product Managers, User Experience, and other support roles to define product requirements

    + Supporting a culture of software craftsmanship best practices including Test Automation and Continuous Integration

    What Skills You Need

    + Experience developing with JavaScript and React

    + Experience developing and utilizing REST APIs

    + Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems (other may apply)

    + Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

    + Available to work 16-20 hours/week during the academic year

    + Available to work 30-40 hours/week during the summer semester

    + Must be able to commute to the work location in Urbandale, IA or Ames, IA on a daily basis year-round

    What Makes You Stand Out

    + Experience with JavaScript testing frameworks, such as Mocha, Jest, React Testing Library

    + Experience with Amazon Web Services or other cloud computing platforms

    + Experience developing in John Deere Operations Center
