An exciting opportunity exists for a college intern to join our Prototyping and Reliability team at the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions Department (AMSD) at Raytheon in Andover, MA. AMSD develops, designs, and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, microwave/millimeter-wave integrated circuits, and modules for defense applications.

What You Will Do

+ Mechanical design and certain electrical design portion of projects

+ Interact with a cross-functional team on a daily basis

+ Work with SME to provide end to end support from concept and design to procurement and testing

+ Collaborate and communicate on project progress and design details

What You Will Learn

+ Structural design in the RF microelectronics field using Creo and AutoCad

+ Design trade-offs between key metrics covering performance, cost, schedule and manufacturability

+ Tolerance studies, material selection and procurement

+ PWB board design

+ RF module testing in engineering labs

Qualifications You Must Have

+ Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major.

+ This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum entering their sophomore year by the start of summer 2026.

Qualifications We Prefer

+ Strong problem-solving experience

+ Knowledge of RF field

+ Knowledge of Printed Circuit Board manufacturing

+ Ability to work in a multi-disciplined engineering environment

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
