    The Systems Engineering and Test Center (SETC) organization is currently hiring a Senior Principal Engineer to join our Tucson, AZ location within the Offensive Systems Engineering (OSE) Portfolio of the Integrated Kill Chain Architectures Directorate of Advanced Technology. This position is to support a portfolio of programs as the **Lead Architect** within the Office of the Chief Engineer on the portfolio.

     

    The **Principal Systems Engineer - Lead Architect, Advanced Technologies** sits on the portfolio leadership team and is focused on areas such as mission engineering and strategic opportunity creation and analysis. The **Principal Systems Engineer - Lead Architect, Advanced Technologies** focuses across an array of levels of system engineering including: mission engineering; business pursuit architecture and analysis; digital analysis and architecture, product design architecture, and threat modeling. This role works across the RTX business to leverage company technology and resources needed by OSE supporting Directors across RTX. The ideal candidate has a strong generalist technical background including optical design, mechanical design, manufacturing processes, supplier engineering, propulsion development, system security, and system test. This dynamic background is mandatory to drive context into multiple aspects of modeling and simulation in other areas including directed energy, optical warfare, fast/affordable weapons, and left-of-launch. This role guides systems architecture design decisions, provides guidance to design teams, and coordinates architectural solutions within OSE pursuits.

    What You Will Do:

    + Interact and coordinate with customer community stakeholders, including acquisition and technical groups, to influence and guide the development of program mission solutions.

    + Shape customer acquisition strategy through collaborative engagements intended to define future potential system capability.

    + Influence internal and external resource decision makers in a manner strengthening Raytheon competitively.

    + Influence system architecture, establish processes, and align program leadership, office the of chief engineer, and multiple IPTs.

    + Regular communication to leadership to provide program status, accomplishments, issues, and help needed, while influencing the Sub-IPTs to ensure program alignment and teamwork.

    + Provide mentoring and guidance to all team members.

    + Apply experience in task leadership and system level design, integration, verification, and test.

    + Drives architectural vision into proposal strategy.

    + Collaborate with system architects to define architecture and flow this out across proposal artifacts, designs, and capture pursuits.

    Qualifications You Must Have

    + Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience

    + Experience on a Missile Program

    + Experience in defense and weapons industry (e.g. - design, microelectronics, operations, supply chain, modeling and simulations, operations research)

    + Experience in system design using Digital Engineering and/or Model Based Systems Engineering

    + Experience with threat modeling with active threat intel community collaboration

    + Experience collaborating between operations analysis, high and low fidelity simulations, 6DOF, and systems modeling communities or similar

    + Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

    Qualifications We Prefer

    + Active Department of Defense TS/SCI and proprietary program clearances

    + Demonstrated ability to simultaneously consider offense and defense

    + Experience leading and influencing cross-disciplined teams in a technical capacity

    + Understands and can influence IRAD roadmaps in related technical areas

    + Demonstrated ability to simultaneously consider offense and defense

    + Experience leading and influencing cross-disciplined teams in a technical capacity

    + Strong interpersonal and communication skills

    + Experience and contacts within government, industry, and RTX digital engineering communities

    + Excellent presentation and proposal skills

    + Prior relevant experience in directed energy, counter directed energy, flight vehicle design, supplier engineering, military sensing, data fusion, AI/ML

    + Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities

    + Master of Science degree in disciplines such as Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, or Systems Engineering

    The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

     

    RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
