The following position is to join our RTX Corporate team:
The Information System Security Officer (ISSO) supports the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in ensuring the security and compliance of classified information systems throughout their lifecycle. The ISSO ensures that systems adhere to the security requirements outlined in the Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG) and other applicable Department of Defense (DoD) regulations. The role involves continuous monitoring, auditing, and improving security measures, as well as contributing to the Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
What You Will Do
+ Assist the ISSM in implementing and overseeing information systems security controls across enterprise classified environments.
+ Develop, maintain, and update Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Control Traceability Matrices (SCTMs), Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), Risk Assessment Reports (RARs), and Security Assessment Plans (SAPs).
+ Monitor system compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines, including the JSIG and NIST 800-53 controls.
+ Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk analysis to maintain system integrity.
+ Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement and sustain security measures, including system hardening using tools like STIGs and SCAP.
+ Perform security sustainment activities such as hardware and software change management and risk research, account agreement and training tracking, media protection, file transfers.
+ Investigate and report on information system security violations, recommending corrective and preventative actions.
+ Oversee and manage patch management processes and ensure timely updates to software and hardware.
+ Security education, awareness, and training to system users and cybersecurity team members.
+ Collaborate with teams and other ISSMs/ISSOs to align practices and share lessons learned.
Qualifications You Must Have
+ Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience in classified environments, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
+ Demonstrated experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and the Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG).
+ Certifications meeting or exceeding DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level I requirements (e.g., Security+, CAP, or CISSP).
+ Experience with security tools such as STIGs, SCAP, Tenable, Splunk, or other vulnerability assessment and SIEM tools.
+ Experience within cloud or multitenancy network environments.
Qualifications We Prefer
+ Experience with DoD enterprise SAP classified environments and the Assessment & Authorization (A&A) processes under RMF.
+ Familiarity with Assured File Transfer processes and automations.
+ Familiarity with Scalable Storage within an enterprise network.
+ Familiarity with Key Management within an enterprise network.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills, with acute attention to detail and multitasking capabilities.
+ Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and work under pressure to meet critical deadlines.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
