General Summary
Spearheads the creation and implementation of innovative design and copywriting strategies that enhance the organization's brand and voice. Acts as a pivotal link between WellSpan and its external partners, producing captivating content for a variety of platforms, including digital, print, and social media. With a profound understanding of marketing and communications, the Director develops clear and precise messaging that aligns with WellSpan's mission, values, and strategic goals. This role also involves supporting crisis communications, tracking content performance, and fostering strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent and credible representation across all channels. The Creative Director must be a visionary strategist and advisor, highly creative, and thrive in a collaborative, innovative, and data-driven Marketing and Communications environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
+ Leads the development and execution of innovative copywriting strategies to support the organization's business objectives.
+ Collaborates with marketing colleagues to create integrated marketing plans that leverage all aspects of communications, including community engagement, thought leadership, and social media.
+ Provides strategic counsel to senior leaders on copywriting and messaging, and conducts content preparation and training.
+ Drives the copywriting program by developing strategies, building relationships with stakeholders, providing content training and preparation, and measuring success against key metrics.
+ Works collaboratively with Marketing, Public Relations, Creative Services, and external agencies to deliver high-impact integrated plans.
+ Regularly scans internal and external environments for best practices and opportunities; manages issues and opportunities impacting the organization's reputation and brand.
+ Ensures compliance with the organization's brand identity and nomenclature standards across all services, practices, and facilities.
+ Responsible for overseeing the creation of visual content, including photography and videography, to complement written materials.
+ Serves as a role model and coach to internal communications specialists and provides oversight on tactical execution.

Travel Requirements:
+ Estimated Amount: 30% - Periodic travel required primarily for meetings, trainings, and periodic visits to clients, project sites, or system locations.
Minimum Education:
+ Bachelors Degree Required
Work Experience:
+ 10+ years Communications, Journalism or Public Relations experience, preferably in a large, complex healthcare organization. Required
Driver's License Statement:
Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.
