You will join a team managing the lifecycle of infrastructure and security, enhancing IBM's cloud solutions to ensure enterprises achieve efficiency, security, and scalability in their cloud journey.

    Your role and responsibilities

    The Advanced Services Engineering team is a team of highly skilled services professionals responsible for the development, building, piloting, and packaging of new and advanced professional services offerings. The Advanced Solutions Engineer (ASE) will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative offerings that address customer needs, improve operational efficiency, and drive business growth.

    What you’ll do (responsibilities)

    • Develop New Offerings - Research and identify emerging technologies, trends, and customer pain points to conceptualize and design innovative professional service offerings. Engage with subject matter experts and stakeholders to validate solution feasibility and market demand.

    • Build Solutions - Create detailed solution blueprints, including technical specifications, project plans, and resource requirements. Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to develop and implement end-to-end solutions that adhere to industry best practices and organizational standards.

    • Pilot Solutions - Manage pilot programs for new service offerings, including selecting pilot customers, gathering feedback, and monitoring solution performance. Ensure smooth solution rollout by addressing any technical or operational issues that arise during the pilot phase.

    • Package Offerings - Develop comprehensive documentation for new service offerings, including solution descriptions, implementation guides, and marketing collateral. Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure effective positioning and promotion of the new offerings in the market.

    • Continuous Improvement - Track and analyse the performance of new service offerings post-launch, identifying opportunities for improvement and iterating on the solution design. Gather and incorporate feedback from customers, partners, and internal teams to enhance solution effectiveness.

    • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with sales, marketing, product development, and customer success teams to align on solution roadmaps, go-to-market strategies, and customer success criteria. Foster a culture of open communication and knowledge sharing to drive innovation and continuous improvement across the organization.

    • Training and Enablement - Develop and assist with the delivery of training materials to internal teams and partners to ensure seamless adoption and delivery of new service offerings. Provide ongoing support and technical guidance to teams involved in solution implementation and delivery.

    • Compliance and Security - Ensure all solutions adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies. Identify and address potential security risks and vulnerabilities, and work proactively to maintain the highest levels of data protection and privacy.

    • Stay Informed - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices through ongoing research, professional development, and networking. Act as a thought leader within the organization, sharing insights and knowledge to drive innovation and foster a culture of continuous learning.

    • Mentorship - Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, and professional growth. Encourage and support the development of new skills and capabilities within the team.

    • Travel - Domestic and international travel as needed.

     

    Required technical and professional expertise

     

    12+ years professional services / support engineering / services development experience or equivalent experience.

     

    • Past experience working with HashiCorp, CSPs and Data Center technology partners.

    • Understanding of standard professional services processes and procedures.

    • Proficiency in understanding concepts and technologies in DevOps, IT operations, security, cloud, microservices, containers, and scheduling platforms.

    • Proficiency and/or knowledge of existing HashiCorp tools such as Vagrant, Packer, Terraform, Consul, Nomad, Vault and others.

    • Experience with implementing software products or solutions to large and dynamic enterprise companies.

    • Ability to work well in a highly dynamic / team environment that focuses on providing above industry standard customer service.

    • Military Veteran/Experience or B.S. degree in an engineering or similar program from an accredited college / university preferred or equivalent experience.
