Senior Director, Operational Excellence
The Sr. Director, Operational Excellence is a senior technology leader responsible for driving resilience, performance, and quality across the bank's IT ecosystem. This role partners with infrastructure, business operations, contact centers, architects, and application teams to ensure systems are observable, automated, and consistently available. The focus is on integration, reliability, and vendor accountability—especially in environments leveraging platforms like FIS and Salesforce.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
+ System Reliability & Observability: Implements observability tools and practices for real-time monitoring and proactive issue detection. Tracks and improves metrics such as MTTD, MTTR, and system uptime to ensure SLA compliance.
+ Automation & DevOps: Drives automation across operational workflows and CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency and release quality. Promotes engineering practices that support scalable and resilient systems.
+ Quality Engineering & Vendor Integration: Leads validation of vendor releases, ensuring they meet functional, performance, and integration standards. Focuses on integration testing and production readiness across SaaS platforms.
+ Production Operations & SRE: Establishes and scales Production Operations and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. Foster a shift-left mindset to build resilient, self-healing systems from design through deployment.
+ Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborates with architects and application teams to embed operational excellence into solution design and delivery. Aligns on reliability, scalability, and performance goals.
+ Vendor Accountability: Holds vendors to the highest standards of delivery and operational excellence. Ensures they are fully integrated into the bank’s ecosystem with clear performance expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
+ 10 years of experience in driving technical solutions for an enterprise organization
+ Prior experience in the banking or financial services industry
Preferred Qualifications
+ Knowledge and experience leveraging technology automation tools and platforms to streamline workflows, reduce manual processes, and improve operational efficiency across key business functions
+ Previous experience working for a large financial institution
Educational Requirements
+ University (Degree) Preferred
