Job Summary and Qualifications
The Quality Coordinator ensures organization compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
What you will do in this role:
+ Works under the leadership of the Administrative Director of Quality to ensure organization and department specific compliance with corporate requirements
+ Works under the leadership of the Administrative Director of Quality to ensure organization and department specific compliance with local, state and federal agencies, including CMS, Joint Commission, DHEC, etc.
+ Collaborates with leaders to develop and submit corrective action plans in response to regulatory survey findings as directed by the Administrative Director of Quality.
+ Assists the Administrative Director of Quality in the investigation of complaints filed with regulatory agencies and submits appropriate responses timely as directed.
+ Assists the Administrative Director of Quality and the Director of Patient Safety in the investigation of any Sentinel Events.
+ Develops and implements action plans for continuous regulatory survey readiness.
+ Evaluates and manages internal and external reports for appropriate benchmarks, data validity and analysis of regulatory and patient safety indicators.
+ Assists with activities to implement regulatory readiness through an ongoing program that objectively and systematically monitors and evaluates the quality of patient care and the required documentation.
+ Identifies and pursues opportunities to improve patient care and related documentation through interdisciplinary performance improvement activities.
+ Develops audit tools and processes and directs activities to coordinate open and closed chart reviews as well as mock tracer activities to ensure survey readiness preparations.
+ Assist the Administrative Director of Quality with the development and maintenance of a survey readiness plan and collaborates with leadership for day of survey coordination as well as post survey action plans and compliance monitoring.
+ Promotes patient safety practices /standards.
+ Assist in keeping survey document list up-to-date for survey at all times.
+ Collaborates with the Disease Specific Certification Coordinators to ensure compliance with the The Joint Commission or DNV standards.
+ Leads The Joint Commission Disease Specific Program survey or other regulatory surveys as assigned.
+ Assist with Restraint Performance Improvement
+ Other duties as assigned
Requirements for this role:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare related field required
+ Master's Degree preferred
+ Recent Healthcare Background required (within a clinical setting such as Hospital or Ambulatory Surgery Center)
+ Two-five years healthcare experience in patient safety, regulatory, and/or quality preferred
+ Knowledge of Patient Safety Science principles, theory, methods, standards, and regulatory requirements
