Your Impact
The primary purpose of the Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs and Marketplace Compliance is to lead the development and operationalization of our trust and safety function for the Lowe's digital marketplace. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing policies, processes, and controls that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices. The role requires deep knowledge of marketplace operations, e-commerce compliance risks, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with Legal, Product, Operations, Merchandising, and Customer Experience teams. This is a unique opportunity to shape a new compliance program within a leading big-box retailer as we expand into the marketplace space.
What You Will Do
+ Strategic Leadership
+ Build and operationalize the Trust & Safety Compliance program for the e-commerce marketplace, including proactive compliance workflows for seller verification, product listings, prohibited item monitoring, and fraud/risk detection
+ Develop and lead the vision, strategy, and execution plan for marketplace trust and safety.
+ Partner closely with Marketplace business, Legal, Compliance, Product & Engineering, Customer Service, and Operations teams to align on trust and safety goals and implementation.
+ Create policies and standards that govern seller behavior, product quality, and customer protections.
+ Serve as the operational compliance subject matter expert for trust and safety questions and escalations.
+ Policy Development & Enforcement
+ Define and operationalize policies related to prohibited products, counterfeit prevention, seller vetting, fraud prevention, review integrity, and more.
+ Establish scalable processes for detecting, investigating, and enforcing violations.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure regulatory alignment across geographies.
+ Regularly update policies and processes in response to new regulations, business changes, or risk trends.
+ Risk Management & Incident Response
+ Build frameworks for monitoring marketplace health and identifying emerging risks.
+ Implement enforcement mechanisms for policy violations, including takedowns, suspensions, and remediation.
+ Develop dashboards, reporting systems, and KPIs to track trust and safety metrics.
+ Technology & Automation
+ Partner with Product and Engineering to define and implement tools that support automated monitoring, machine learning-based abuse detection, and enforcement workflows.
+ Evaluate and integrate third-party vendors or platforms that can accelerate operational scale.
+ Team Building & People Leadership
+ Hire, mentor, and lead a high-performing Trust & Safety team as the marketplace scales.
+ Deliver training and awareness session for internal teams on compliance policies and responsibilities
+ Foster a mission-driven culture rooted in integrity, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Project Management, or related field or equivalent work experience
+ 8+ years of experience in trust & safety, policy enforcement, risk management, content moderation, or a related field
+ Proven experience establishing or scaling a trust & safety function in an e-commerce or marketplace environment
+ Proven experience establishing or scaling a trust & safety function in an e-commerce or marketplace environment
+ Strong knowledge of online fraud vectors, seller abuse patterns, and digital consumer protection standards.
+ Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to e-commerce, including consumer protection, product compliance, advertising, product safety, trademark, and data privacy.
+ Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and operational execution skills.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with experience using data to drive decisions.
+ Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering teams.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of representing Lowe’s externally with partners and stakeholders.
