Medical Records Specialist
Shift: up to 24 hours per week
Status: Part Time

We are looking for compassionate and caring Medical Records Specialist to join our LIFE New Jersey team. LIFE New Jersey Healthcare is a member of Trinity Health PACE. Our facility ministers exclusively to the elderly through a coordinated care model which provides preventive, primary, acute and long-term care services designed to assist older individuals to live as independently as possible while continuing to live within their community.
This position will be housed primarily at the LIFE New Jersey facility.

What you will do:
+ Organize, maintain, and assume accountability of PACE Organization medical records system in compliance with corporate, state and federal regulations.
+ Maintain a documented and organized system, which is readily accessible for other professionals both electronically and by paper.
+ Attend workshops and seminars as needed and provide guidance and training to staff regarding medical record issues.
+ Perform secretarial duties for committees of the Program as needed and ensure all personnel are knowledgeable of and honor the participants' responsibilities and rights.
+ Participate in surveys and assist in development of a plan of correction for department deficiencies when necessary.
+ Maintains confidentiality of all medical records.
+ Responds to requests for medical records from Enrollment department.
+ Respond to requests for records of current enrollees from PACE PCPs, RNs, and Director of Finance, etc.
+ Respond to requests from PACE coder to attain required missing records.
What you will need:
+ High school diploma or equivalent required and 1-2 years of medical records experience. Knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial.
+ Minimum one (1) year of experience working with the frail or elderly population required.
+ Must be action-oriented, have business acumen, manage conflict well, be customer focused, have high decision quality, flexibility to adapt to ongoing change and have organizational agility. Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.
