Description:
Under the general direction of the Manager, Patient Access, is responsible for all patient registration and pre-registration activities across Genesis Health System hospital. Supervises, plans, and coordinates the various functions of Admissions, including Emergency Services registration, pre-registration, pre-insurance verification. Responsible for facilitating employee supervision, oversight of all registration activities, including answering patient inquiries and assisting with registration as necessary. Will ensure all activities achieve high patient satisfaction levels and support successful registration and billing activities, while promoting the standards and philosophies of Genesis Health System. Additional responsibilities will be assisting with insurance verification and other duties as assigned. Scheduling of registration staffing on multiple shifts and locations.
Education:
2 year college program or equivalent experience Field OF Study: Business, Management, or related field
Special Training:
Patient registration and/or pre-registration experience, insurance verification experience
Training Preferred: CHAM, Medical terminology, supervisory/management experience; strong organizational skills
Experience:
More than 2 years experience required.
Interpersonal Skills:
Interaction is with a variety of people inside or outside the organization. Communications are of moderate difficulty and sensitivity. Contact with others may involve detailed & lengthy dialogues & exchanges of information. Requires a moderate amount of interpersonal skills. Interactions involve dealing with moderately complicated problem situations or stressful encounters.
