    Postdoctoral Fellow - Department Obstetrics & Gynecology - Basic Science & Transitional Research

    Reproductive Biology & Microbiology

    We seek a Postdoctoral researcher with a PhD in Reproductive biology, Physiology, Microbiology, Molecular biology or related disciplines to join a multidisciplinary research team in investigating the role of vaginal bacterial extracellular vesicles in preventing preterm birth. They should be skilled in 16S rRNA gene sequencing, shotgun metagenomic sequencing, RNA Sequencing, metabolomics and proteomics, bacterial culture, tissue culture, and handling in vivo (human and animal) samples.

    Responsibilities

    + Culture of human and bacterial cells and preparation of co-infection experiments

    + Isolation and quantification of bacterial DNA and RNA

    + Preparation of human and bacterial samples for proteomic and metabolomic analyses

    + Microfluidic organ-on-chip fabrication

    + Collaborate with wet-lab teams on organ-on-chip simulations.

    + Integrate genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics and functional assay data into biological networks.

    + Identification of biomarkers and therapeutic targets for preterm birth.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + PhD in Reproductive biology, Physiology, Microbiology, Molecular biology or related disciplines with a research background.

    Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

    + Experience in isolation and characterization of extracellular vesicles and

    + Knowledge and experience of working with organ-on-chip microfluidic devices and bioinformatics.

    + Experience with analyzing multi-omics data for developing predictive models.

    + Ability to link computational outputs with experimental insights.

    + Background in preterm birth research and feto-maternal interface biology.

    + Experience curating training datasets from literature/experiments.
