    Position Summary

    The Instructor will support the research and academic mission of the Department of Neurology by conducting laboratory-based studies focused on neurological disorders and related mechanisms. The individual will contribute to ongoing research projects, assist with grant development, mentor trainees and laboratory staff, and collaborate with faculty on scholarly activities that advance the field of neuroscience.

    Essential Responsibilities

    + **Design, conduct, and analyze experiments related to neurological disease models, neurodegeneration, or neuroregeneration.**

    + **Contribute to the development and execution of research protocols and ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.**

    + **Participate in manuscript preparation, presentation of findings at scientific meetings, and submission of grant applications.**

    + **Supervise and train laboratory personnel, including research technicians, postdoctoral fellows, and students.**

    + **Maintain laboratory organization, safety, and quality control procedures.**

    + **Collaborate with faculty across the department and institution to support multidisciplinary research initiatives.**

    Minimum Qualifications

    + **Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in Neuroscience, Neurobiology, or a related field.**

    + **Demonstrated experience in laboratory research, preferably within neurology or neuroscience.**

    + **Evidence of scholarly productivity (e.g., publications, presentations, grant participation).**

    + **Strong technical skills in molecular biology, cell culture, imaging, or animal models relevant to neurological research.**

    + **Excellent communication, organizational, and mentoring skills.**

    Preferred Qualifications

    + **Prior experience in neurodegenerative disease or translational neuroscience research.**

    + **Experience in supervising laboratory staff or managing research projects.**

    + **Familiarity with grant writing or collaborative research proposals.**

     

    Work Environment

     

    This position is primarily laboratory-based and may involve working with biological specimens, cell cultures, or small animal models.

     

    Salary

     

    Commensurate with experience.
