Job Description
The Research Associate will play a key role in synthesizing scientific knowledge, communicating findings to both technical and public audiences, and providing occasional field support. This position is ideal for someone passionate about ecological restoration, literature-based research, and science communication. Anticipated end date is December 20 th , 2026 , depending on grant funding.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Conduct a scoping review of published and gray literature on Tamaulipan thornscrub restoration, management, and associated ecological outcomes.
+ Prepare and write technical reports, and lay-friendly outreach articles for different audiences including landowners, conservation practitioners, and the scientific community.
+ Collaborate with researchers, students, and staff to organize ecological data into accessible materials that inform conservation practice .
+ Provide occasional field support , assisting with restoration monitoring, plant surveys, and data collection as needed.

Minimum Requirements
Education – Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Experience – Two years of related professional experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of - Familiarity of e cosystem, literature databases, and technical writing skills.
Ability to - Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software to create databases, organize ecological data , present data and perform other computer related tasks.
Ability to -Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
