    What will you do as a Human Resources Coordinator?

     

    As part of the Human Resources Team, the HR Coordinator performs, in coordination with the HR Generalists, all DOT and various annual compliance initiatives. Additionally, the HR Coordinator is expected to live and demonstrate the Company’s Culture while being a servant leader within the company and the communities we serve.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Provide administrative support to members of the HR Department and assist HR department in carrying out various Human Resources programs and procedures for all company employees.

    + Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; referring more complex questions to appropriate HR team member.

    + Assist in maintaining shared email inbox.

    + Facilitate New Hire Orientation.

    + Participate in developing department goals and systems. Participate in required meetings and seminars.

    + All other administrative duties as required and assigned.

    DOT

    + Track positions that require CDLs, create and maintain DOT files consistent with state and federal laws.

    + Submit and track DOT driver history requests of new commercial licensed drivers to their former employers.

    + Respond to DOT driver history requests submitted by former employees to new employers.

    + Assist HR Generalists in managing DOT Clearinghouse activity for the company.

    + Monitor driver data for expired licenses, reclassification of licenses and expired medical certifications, following up with employees to get updated information.

    + Track and maintain eligible driver lists.

    + Stay up to date on DOT & FMCSA regulations and requirements.

    + Ensure accuracy of DOT information in HRIS system to reflect an accurate monthly report to leaders

    + Assist the HR Generalists in administering the company’s Entry Level Driver Training Program by enrolling all required participants and following up on progress; escalating lack of progress/completion.

    COMPLIANCE

    + Assist HR Generalist with the Annual MVR processing and review for all commercial licensed drivers and employees.

    + Review Drug & Alcohol Program results and work with HR Generalist Supervisor on Annual MIS Reporting.

    + Administer the company’s Random Drug Test program in coordination with the HR Generalists.

    + Assist the HR Generalist Supervisor in completing various annual compliance reporting.

    Requirements

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    + Bachelor’s degree in human resources is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + 1-3 years administrative Human Resources experience required.

    + Experience administering DOT compliance is preferred.

    + Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

    + New Hire Orientation

    + Inter-Active Safety Training

    + Annual Alcohol and Drug Free Workplace training

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    + Work in a professional office environment; sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and phones.

    + Work involves walking, talking and hearing using hands to handle, feel or operate objects. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to focus when using computer monitor.

    PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)

    + None.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    + The noise level in the work environment can be moderately noisy due to manufacturing equipment in operation.

    + May be required to travel to territory locations and attend out-of-town trainings and/or seminars.

    + Work hours may vary from 6 am to 5:30 pm depending on schedules and the season; Monday through Friday; approx. 40-45 hours per week. Additional hours may be required occasionally.
