WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
In this role, you will report directly to the Director, Craft Design – Apparel Design Excellence. You will partner closely with Apparel Design Excellence, Materials Design, In-Line Apparel Design, Apparel Innovation, Product Development, and Technical Design teams. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to build outerwear platforms that serve Nike Sports and Sportswear, including Insulated Outerwear, Wind Shell, Soft Shell, and Waterproof Hard Shell categories.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an Expert Designer, Outerwear Craft Design who leads the creation of outerwear platforms across Nike Sports and Sportswear. You will translate early design concepts into silhouette, construction, and material systems that reflect elevated form, fit, and performance intent. The ideal candidate is a hands-on innovator with deep expertise in outerwear design and prototyping, including insulated, wind, soft, and waterproof hard shell garments. You are a problem solver, collaborator, and form-led designer who adapts fluidly between blue sky thinking and technical execution.
+ 10+ years of experience in outerwear design and prototyping across sport and lifestyle
+ Bachelor's degree in Design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
+ Expertise in insulated, wind shell, soft shell, and waterproof hard shell garment construction
+ Advanced knowledge of silhouette, fit, and material integration
+ Experience working in cross-functional product creation teams (Design, Development, Innovation, etc.)
+ Hands-on experience with both digital and physical prototyping tools
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
In this role, you will shape the future of outerwear through form—crafting new standards of fit, silhouette, and construction at the intersection of performance, innovation, and style. You will:
+ Lead outerwear platform creation across Nike Sports and Sportswear
+ Design and prototype insulated, wind shell, soft shell, and waterproof hard shell garments
+ Translate early design concepts into buildable silhouette, construction, and material systems
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align outerwear solutions with performance, style, and manufacturing requirements
+ Support seasonal priorities by delivering refined outerwear platforms for athlete-tested and consumer-ready product
+ Contribute to building a shared language and toolkit for outerwear design excellence
