             Position Title : Behavior Technician Department : Children's Services/The Laradon School Reporting Function : Behavior Services Coordinator Supervisory Functions : None Salary : $60,000-$65,000 Job Summary : This position seeks to grow staff into a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Support students in achieving their maximum potential by working with the students 1:1 and in-group settings to meet Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals, increase educationally acceptable behaviors, and create a safe, positive learning environment. Provide guidance and training to school staff on crisis intervention and behavior plan implementation. Duties/Responsibilities : • Manage caseload as assigned by Behavior Services Coordinator + Assist with onboarding and referral process + Assist with Safety Care documentation and scheduling to ensure all staff are current with the certification + Support/delegate daily staffing schedule + Attend tours for student referrals + Train staff on Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), skill acquisition programs, other behavior initiatives, and provide meaningful feedback/ integrity checks to ensure consistent and accurate data + Respond to student crisis by providing support, debrief crisis situations with the team, and complete required debriefing documentation + Effectively communicate, collaborate and coordinate with team members + Complete documentation according to Laradon and other governing agency’s policies, standards, and procedures + Maintain respect, dignity and confidentiality of students, staff and parents + Maintain clean environment and be a positive role model to others + Other duties as assigned. Minimum Training Requirements: • All trainings deemed mandatory by Laradon • A minimum of 24 hours of approved training annually • Orientation • First Aid/CPR • Mandatory Reporting and Incident Reporting • Crisis Intervention training, QBS Inc., Behavioral Safety Training through Advanced Skills module • Obtain and maintain instructor certifications for QBS Inc., Behavioral Safety Training (through Advanced Skills module) within 1 year of being in role • 20 hours of on-the-job training Minimum Position Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree required. • Must be enrolled in a BCBA program within 6 months of hire. • One or more years’ experience working with children with developmental disabilities and/or emotional/behavioral disorders in an educational or instructional setting. • Preferred and be at least 21 years of age with valid driver’s license and good driving record. • P hysical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force; physical condition to enable walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; stamina to be on feet and active for full work days; ability to complete training and perform physical management of students as necessary, including physical restraints; ability to speak or exchange information in an audible manner.
