As an SDET, you will work with a talented team developing exciting consumer products and collaborate across functions. In this role, you'll partner with system architects, QA engineers, software developers, program managers, and hardware engineers to implement test automation and develop infrastructure for our next-generation applications and platforms. Your work will significantly impact our systems, business, and most importantly, our customers.

Key job responsibilities

- We're seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test who is passionate about innovating for customers, demonstrates a high degree of product ownership, and wants to have fun while making history. In this role, you'll be responsible for quality assurance of new customer features and supporting architecture, provide technical leadership for development and QA engineering teams, design and implement test automation infrastructure, drive quality upstream by innovating test automation infrastructure (unit and integration test frameworks), and lead product quality metrics tooling efforts. This is a unique opportunity as a Software Development Engineer in Test to plan and build test automation strategy, methodology, process, and infrastructure from the ground up, as the product is still in its infancy. Champion feature quality in development pipelines using automated tests and test reporting to enable sign-offs of features and release candidates.

- Establish processes and toolsets to maintain automation scripts and generate effective test reports and dashboards.

- Integrate and leverage AI-powered testing tools to enhance test coverage, optimize test case generation, and improve defect detection while maintaining testing efficiency across the development lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications

- 2+ years of test automation frameworks and tools building experience

- BS/MS degree in computer science, computer or electrical engineering, mathematics, or equivalent experience

- 3+ years of software development experience

- 2+ years of test engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications

- Proven track record of designing and delivering engineering infrastructure and frameworks to enable large-scale, highly available, low-latency, high-quality software products

- Expertise in software design patterns and testability

- Expertise in software development best practices

- Ability to drive results and independently own project testing tasks

- Strong communication skills and comfort working across teams

- Strong written and verbal communication

- Strong team player with exceptional interpersonal skills

- Knowledge of industry-standard test automation tools and experience in developing product test harnesses and instrumenting products to gather test results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
