As a full-stack software development engineer, you will be owning the service E2E from design to implementation to deployment to . We use the latest AWS stack and industry standard programming languages including, but not limited to, Java, Scala, JavaScript, Python, React/React Native.

The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience, takes pride in building high quality cloud services, and has a demonstrable track record of successfully delivering new features and products. They value collaboration, making data-driven decisions, and can comfortably communicate with others, in both technical and non-technical roles.

Key job responsibilities

An SDE-II on the Amazon Learn Data Services (LDS) team is expected to become an expert across various Amazon Learn systems and their interactions. An SDE-II should have strong knowledge of Amazon Tools and Technologies, security standards, micro-service architecture, database design, and should be comfortable converting ambiguous problems into scalable designs.

This role will be responsible for building brand new high quality distributed cloud services on the AWS platform. Our team has a highly collaborative, fast moving, and fun culture with a combined engineering and dev ops mentality. As a member of the team you will influence our overall strategy by helping define product features, design the system architecture, and promote the best practices that enable a quality product.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
