As the Senior Software Development Manager of the Device OS Fundamentals team, you will lead a team that owns critical OS framework components, services, tools, and application development frameworks - working on projects that push the boundaries of customer-device interaction. You will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative consumer product experiences. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. As part of your work, you will work closely with Amazon device software teams, product management teams, external partner developers, internal Amazon application developers, and Amazon service teams to drive development from the concept stage to the launch stage.

Key job responsibilities

- You will work across teams with other groups leaders, product owners and devices leadership to refine the architecture and roadmap of Device OS

- You will work with program management, principle software engineers, and the managers on the team to deliver a schedule enabling the design, prototype and implementation of new OS features and use cases to deliver this strategy.

- You will work in a creative environment where you can build and grow your software architecture, design, and development skills.

About the team

- This role is part of a growing team of software engineers that is supporting the development of experiences that span multiple Amazon Devices projects.

- The team works closely with product managers and internal teams to define and enable real, end user observable use-cases in a lightweight agile manner.

Basic Qualifications

- 10+ years of engineering experience

- 5+ years of engineering team management experience

- 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience

- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience partnering with product and program management teams

- Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications

- 12+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience

- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $198,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $342,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
