We're seeking an experienced Principal Product Manager to lead the strategy and execution of our Material Catalog, Inventory, and Genealogy products. This role will drive the technical vision and product roadmap for critical systems that power Amazon's global fulfillment network.
Key job responsibilities
• Own the long-term vision and strategy for material catalog, inventory tracking, and item genealogy systems
• Drive product development from conception to launch, working closely with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders
• Define and analyze metrics to measure product success and operational impact
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve inventory accuracy, reduce operational costs, and enhance system scalability
• Develop business cases and secure buy-in from senior leadership for major investments
• Mentor junior product managers and influence product development practices across teams

Inventory
AFT’s Inventory team delivers complex, innovative, scalable solutions to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of all physical goods across the Amazon fulfillment network, ensuring both inventory record accuracy and safe inventory handling for billions of items.
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience technical product management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
