    Job Title: Project Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager to join our team. This role involves client interfacing, scheduling, and managing change orders, as well as assisting with time sheet supervision. The ideal candidate will have experience in project engineering, project management, and automation controls engineering, specifically within airport and baggage handling systems.

    Responsibilities

    + Interface with clients to understand project requirements and deliverables.

    + Develop and manage project schedules to ensure timely completion.

    + Oversee change order management processes to adjust project scopes as needed.

    + Assist in supervising time sheets for project personnel.

    + Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, holding either OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in project engineering, project management, or as an Assistant Project Manager.

    + Automation and controls engineering expertise.

    + At least 2+ years of experience in a relevant field.

    + Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively based on customer needs.

    + Strong communication skills and ability to articulate thoughts well.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + GPA of 3.0 or higher.

    + Familiarity with Bluebeam software.

    + Experience in internal coordination, scheduling, budgeting, and estimating.

    + Proficiency in Excel and general computer knowledge.

    + Strong social skills for effective team collaboration.

    This is a contract role with travel opportunities and per diem compensation. The company is financially strong, with a bonding capacity exceeding $100M and a consistent repeat-customer base. The work culture is laid-back and less formal, with a team atmosphere that encourages social interaction. Dress code includes jeans and tennis shoes. The company has grown significantly over the past 15 years, from 3 to 50 employees, and revenue from $20 million to $200 million. The position involves working with union millwrights and is based in the food and beverage group, focusing on removing old products and installing new ones for a plant. Open to candidates with backgrounds in engineering, general contracting, or subcontracting.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rome, Georgia.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $44.00/hr.
