Job Title: Controls Engineer
Client Location: Louisville, KY (remote work & travel, no relocation needed)
Job Description
The Controls Engineer will lead all phases of a controls project, encompassing concept and research, estimating support, component selection, network design, panel design, layout, device troubleshooting, PLC and HMI programming, on-site installation and debugging, and after-sales support.
Responsibilities
+ Lead concept and research phases of controls projects.
+ Provide estimating support and select appropriate components.
+ Design network systems and panel layouts.
+ Troubleshoot devices and program PLCs and HMIs.
+ Oversee on-site installation and debugging processes.
+ Provide after-sales support to ensure client satisfaction.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in PLC programming, specifically Allen-Bradley.
+ Experience with baggage handling systems.
+ Expertise in debugging and commissioning controls systems.
+ Knowledge of FactoryTalk and HMI systems.
+ Familiarity with VFDs and vision systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
+ Experience in Controls Engineering and material handling.
+ Proficiency in Rockwell Software and CompactLogix.
+ Understanding of networking and ethernet systems.
+ Knowledge of UL508a, NEC, and NFPA standards.
+ Familiarity with servos and sensors.
Work Environment
The role requires 50% travel, with a typical schedule of 10 days on and 4 days off, though flexibility is necessary. Employees will receive a per diem for meals based on the GSA rate for the location. The company is a small, ambitious organization specializing in baggage handling systems, with a leadership team experienced in industry growth. There is an opportunity for long-term wealth building as the company transitions to an ESOP within the next 12 months.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
