    Lab Technician (Materials / Metals)

    We are seeking an entry-level Lab Technician to join our materials characterization lab, supporting production and engineering goals in the semiconductor industry. The Lab Technician will assist laboratories and technical teams by preparing samples, executing tests, analyzing data, processing products, and supporting various projects.

    Responsibilities

    + Prepare and process samples and products.

    + Set up equipment, assemblies, and experiments.

    + Collect data according to work instructions or experimental plans.

    + Prepare reports with data and analysis.

    + Support senior technicians and engineers in project execution.

    + Understand and adhere to all safety requirements, communicating risks to leadership and assisting in resolution.

    + Complete all 5S standards to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.

    + Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

    + Contribute to company culture by aligning with company values and code of conduct, maintaining a positive attitude, and communicating effectively with team members.

    Essential Skills

    + Mechanically inclined with an enjoyment of working with hands and using power tools.

    + Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    + Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds regularly.

    + Capability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform frequent bending and twisting.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + High school diploma required.

    + Previous lab experience is a plus, especially in characterization labs.

    + Familiarity with shop equipment such as grinders, lathes, and mills.

    + Experience with GMP and entering data into quality systems.

    + Background in mechanical fields, materials sciences, metallurgy, steel, aluminum, or composites is advantageous.

    Work Environment

    The position is for the 2nd shift, from 2pm - 10pm, Monday through Friday, with training on the 1st shift from 7 am to 3:30 pm for approximately 3-4 months. The work involves using power tools, polishing equipment, acids, and solvents in an ISO14001/ISO9001 certified environment. The team comprises 8-10 lab technicians and 2-3 engineers. The Materials Evaluation Lab focuses on characterizing the microstructure and physical properties of products, using methods such as optical and scanning electron microscopy, electron backscatter diffraction, X-ray diffraction, hardness, tensile/yield strength testing, and Keyence image analysis.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grove City, Ohio.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
