    Electrical Manufacturing Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Manufacturing Engineer to act as the crucial link between design and manufacturing, with a strong emphasis on design for manufacturability. This role involves developing and deploying production lines for new products and ensuring seamless integration between design and manufacturing processes.

    Responsibilities

    + Design and deploy production lines for new products.

    + Support Manufacturing Engineering during initial production runs to validate product development.

    + Participate in design reviews, providing input from an industrialization perspective.

    + Collaborate with engineering, operations, and suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost.

    + Create initial production work instructions for generators and electrical control/conversion units using available manufacturing processes and tools.

    + Design basic tooling and select optimal assembly methods as needed.

    + Monitor supplier compliance with quality standards and contractual flow-downs.

    + Validate Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP) for delivered hardware.

    + Approve First Article Inspections (FAIs).

    + Troubleshoot production issues impacting delivery schedules, quality, and customer satisfaction.

    + Provide industrialization support for process and product improvements.

    + Represent manufacturing in new development programs to ensure manufacturability is considered from the outset.

    + Support improvement initiatives, product transitions, and manufacturing transfers.

    + Assist Supplier Quality during audits to verify work instructions align with drawing requirements.

    + Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to establish efficient production process flows.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Manufacturing, Industrialization, or a related engineering discipline.

    + Experience in electronics manufacturing.

    + Experience with PCB design or ability to learn PCB Design.

    + Strong understanding of PCBs, electronics, and hardware; ability to read PCB drawings and understand PCB manufacturing processes.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience with leaded components (aerospace/DoD).

    + Familiarity with power electronics.

    + Knowledge of heavy copper layer applications.

    + Experience with medium to high voltage systems.

    Work Environment

    The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and suppliers, to ensure optimal production processes. The work environment encourages the application of Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance process efficiency and involves troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.

    This is a Contract position based out of Twinsburg, Ohio

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $33.17 - $41.83/hr.
