Job Title: Production Technician I
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Technician I to join our team. This role involves setting up equipment for routine processes, operating complex equipment under general supervision, and monitoring the manufacturing process. The successful candidate will become conversant with departmental processes and be responsible for communicating operational events and issues. This position offers an opportunity to identify and implement improvements in both physical operations and written documents.
Responsibilities
+ Be knowledgeable of basic jobs in the assigned area of responsibility and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) policies.
+ Demonstrate compliance with local and industry quality and safety standards.
+ Be proficient in either manual or controlled process equipment.
+ Learn and expand knowledge with the help of a certified and qualified trainer, applying all required technical, regulatory, and safety training.
+ Troubleshoot problem situations with occasional assistance.
+ Make timely decisions to accomplish departmental goals under occasional supervision.
+ Recommend improvements for manufacturing and departmental processes, taking ownership of tasks.
+ Listen actively to acquire information and understand work procedures.
+ Participate in the sharing of information to promote overall efficiency of production, attending and actively participating in meetings.
+ Resolve conflicts in a professional and constructive manner with individuals inside and outside the operating environment.

+ Troubleshooting skills
+ Ability to communicate and work well with others
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Prefer GMP experience
+ Experience with electronic batch records is preferred
+ High School diploma required
+ Basic technical knowledge with experience in a chemical, biological, pharmaceutical, or similar environment
+ Knowledge of department basic operating procedures and guidelines, compliance, and safety rules and procedures

Work Environment
This position is for the day shift, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The role involves working with complex manufacturing equipment in a production environment. Employees are expected to adhere to safety standards and dress codes appropriate for a manufacturing setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of North Chicago, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
