Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
As a Machine Operator, you will oversee four machines to ensure they are running properly, check the quality of products, and make sure the products are packaged and labeled correctly. You will also occasionally load and unload packaging material.
Responsibilities
+ Inspect equipment daily to ensure it is clean and sanitary.
+ Check metal detectors as instructed.
+ Conduct changeovers, replacing packaging film as needed.
+ Coordinate proper spicing with correct packaging film.
+ Check code dates for accuracy every 15 minutes.
+ Inspect bag seams to ensure seals are strong.
+ Work with quality control to ensure standards are met and maintain applicable records.
+ Maintain efficient operation of equipment.
+ Troubleshoot and proactively solve potential problems with equipment.
+ Communicate with all production associates to ensure a positive flow of production and accomplish packaging schedule goals.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum two years’ experience in operating food processing equipment.
+ Thorough knowledge of machinery and sound mechanical ability.
+ Ability to use production computer programs.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently and make good decisions.
+ Capability to work in a fast-paced environment under constant production line pressure.
+ Ability to lift rolls of film weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School diploma or equivalent on-the-job experience.
+ Experience with machine operation, packaging machines, and date coders.

Work Environment
Work in a warm facility, especially during the summer, surrounded by machinery and production products like chips and popcorn. The facility and machinery are cleaned every Friday, and for the night shift, sanitation work is conducted in the latter half of the day. The environment can be dirty at times due to chips and grease.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Algona, Washington.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.07 - $23.57/hr.
