    Job Title: Solderer - $20-23/hr - 1st Shift

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Solderer for our first shift from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. The successful candidate will perform all aspects of electronic assembly and provide assistance in other areas as needed, including light mechanical assembly.

    Responsibilities

    + Read and interpret work orders, production drawings, blueprints, and sample assemblies in English, or follow verbal instructions.

    + Perform free-hand and through-hole soldering of components onto PCBs for small sensors and related products.

    + Place and align electronic components on circuit boards according to work orders, blueprints, and assembly instructions.

    + Conduct visual inspections to ensure components are properly placed, oriented correctly (polarity and direction), and meet quality specifications.

    + Perform basic inspection of solder joints to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with quality standards.

    + Conduct hand and mechanical assembly of products as needed based on production demand.

    + Use jigs, fixtures, or other holding devices to position and secure parts in proper alignment.

    + Accurately identify and handle resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits (ICs), transformers, and other components visually or using data sheets.

    + Secure components using crimping, staking, screwing, bolting, hand soldering, cementing, press-fitting, or similar assembly techniques.

    + Verify the accuracy and quality of completed assemblies.

    + Connect component lead wires to printed circuits and route and connect wires between components, connectors, terminals, and contact points as specified.

    + Perform intermediate assembly tasks such as potting, encapsulating, cutting, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding of parts and assemblies.

    + Operate manual machines used to press, shape, or wind component parts.

    + Move between different workstations as production needs require.

    + Demonstrate proper soldering techniques and correct component forming and orientation (diodes, ICs, chips, capacitors, etc.).

    Essential Skills

    + High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

    + Minimum of one (1) year of experience in circuit board assembly or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Proficiency in soldering, thru-hole soldering, electronic assembly, and interpreting blueprints.

    + Ability to calculate figures such as proportions, percentages, and basic geometric measurements.

    + Basic understanding of algebra and geometry principles applied to production and assembly work.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associate degree or technical certification in electronics or a related field preferred.

    + Up to three (3) years of related experience and/or formal training may be substituted for education requirements.

    + Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists.

    + Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions accurately.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a clean environment with a mix of standing and sitting throughout the day. You will be sitting when soldering and working with soldering tools to build boards.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
