Job Title: Painter

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced painter to manage the cleaning, blasting, preparation, masking, and painting of large valves using a multi-coat system. The role involves using a pot gun and a gravity-fed paint gun for spraying, with responsibilities equally split between blasting and painting. The painter will also operate a forklift and overhead crane to move products through various stages of the process and to and from the assembly floor. Additionally, the role requires using a wet mill gauge to ensure the blast profile meets specifications.

Responsibilities

+ Clean, prep, and mask large valves for painting.

+ Perform blasting and painting tasks, using a multi-coat system.

+ Utilize pot gun and gravity-fed paint gun for spraying.

+ Operate forklift and overhead crane to move products.

+ Ensure blast profile is within specification using a wet mill gauge.

Essential Skills

+ 5+ years of experience in painting and blasting.

+ Proficiency in paint preparation, cleaning, and blasting.

+ Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts.

+ Knowledge of different types of paint for mixing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with industrial painting and spray guns.

+ Familiarity with paint booths, coating, and sandblasting.

Work Environment

Work in a clean, climate-controlled shop on a 1st shift schedule from 6am to 6pm, Monday through Saturday, with some Sundays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
