Job Title: Manual Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist who will be responsible for machining parts on conventional and special-purpose machines, setting up and operating manual lathes and mills, and producing drawings with precise measurements and tolerances.
Responsibilities
+ Machine parts on conventional and special-purpose machines.
+ Set up and operate manual lathes and mills, including engine lathes, horizontal boring mills, vertical turret lathes, keyseaters, and milling machines.
+ Utilize micrometers, calipers, tape measures, thread gauges, and wrenches effectively.
+ Make new parts from newly ordered materials and machine welded components back to specifications.
+ Produce drawings with precise measurements and tolerances and machine parts to print.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of experience in setting up and operating manual mills and lathes.
+ Experience working from blueprints.
+ Proficiency with micrometers and calipers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures.
+ Proficiency in shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques.
+ Ability to make new parts to sample and work under specific instructions to attain precise standards.
+ High spatial aptitude, good attention to detail, and ability to retain verbal instructions.
+ Ability to use discretion and make judgments.

Work Environment
Work in a 40,000 square foot facility equipped with three overhead cranes (20 Ton, 10 Ton, and 5 Ton) and 19 jib cranes serving various cells. Our lean facility includes cells for Disassembly, Welding, Machining, Quality Inspection, Assembly, Painting, and Testing. The work environment is designed to meet and exceed customer needs across the Cement, Metals, Minerals, Mining, OEM, and Oil & Gas markets.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lawrence, Pennsylvania.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
