Description We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In this role, you will handle a variety of billing tasks to ensure accuracy and efficiency in processing invoices and payments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of billing systems and a commitment to delivering excellent service.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and issue accurate billing statements to clients in a timely manner.

• Manage billing collections and follow up on outstanding payments.

• Utilize computerized billing systems to process invoices and reconcile accounts.

• Verify and update account information to maintain data accuracy.

• Collaborate with team members to resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries.

• Monitor accounts for overdue payments and implement collection procedures as necessary.

• Generate detailed reports on billing activities and account statuses.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures during billing operations.

• Assist in maintaining organized records of billing transactions and correspondence.

• Provide support for special billing projects as required. Requirements • Proven experience in billing functions, including invoice preparation and payment collection.

• Familiarity with computerized billing systems and general accounting software.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.

• Excellent communication skills for resolving billing issues and interacting with clients.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of billing statements and financial reporting.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in accounting or finance is a plus.
