Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for the completion of work orders related to physical maintenance and repairs of assigned buildings. You will utilize work order-related software programs and implement routine physical improvements. Your role will include responding to emergencies in accordance with departmental protocols and assisting in maintaining equipment, tools, and supplies.
Responsibilities
+ Complete work orders for physical maintenance and repairs using software programs.
+ Implement routine physical improvements.
+ Respond to emergencies as per departmental protocol.
+ Assist in establishing and maintaining equipment, tools, supplies, inventories, and logs.
+ Implement and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan.
+ Control expenses associated with the operation of buildings.
+ Communicate building status and changes effectively.
+ Adhere to safety standards, policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.
+ Act professionally and courteously with all stakeholders.
+ Use materials, supplies, and tools safely and productively.
+ Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Facilities maintenance experience
+ HVAC knowledge
+ Repair skills
+ Plumbing expertise
+ Drywall and painting skills
+ Electrical troubleshooting
+ Ability to understand and interpret design documents and operational procedures
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 2+ years of related work experience and technical training
+ High school graduate or GED required, technical school training preferred
+ Excellent interpersonal skills for teamwork and positive relations
+ Safety consciousness
+ Organizational and prioritization skills
+ Basic mathematical aptitude
+ 24-hour availability for emergencies and on-call rotation
+ Physical ability to walk extensively, climb stairs and ladders, lift/carry a minimum of 50 pounds
+ Willingness to work overtime on special projects
+ Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
+ Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software
+ Working knowledge of tools and their proper use
+ CFC Handling Certification preferred

Work Environment
The role is based in an office building and involves travel to multiple sites throughout the Charleston area.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charleston, South Carolina.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr.
