    Maintenance Technician

    **Location:** San Marcos, TX

    **Job Type:** Contract-to-Hire

    **Schedule:** 1st Shift – Four 10-hour days (Monday–Thursday), with frequent Friday work

    **Pay:** Competitive hourly rate based on experience

     

    About the Role

     

    We’re looking for a skilled **Maintenance Technician** to join our growing team at a fast-paced food manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Perform routine and preventative maintenance on food processing and facility equipment

    + Diagnose and repair electrical systems (low and high voltage)

    + Troubleshoot mechanical issues involving hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gears, pumps, and chillers

    + Support general building maintenance (lighting, doors, appliances)

    + Fabricate minor parts as needed

    + Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors for parts and services

    + Maintain accurate maintenance records and update preventive maintenance schedules

    + Ensure compliance with safety standards and GMP protocols

    + Lift up to 50 lbs and remain active throughout the shift

     

    What You Bring

    Required Experience:

    + Minimum **2+ years** of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

    + Hands-on experience with **hydraulic, pneumatic, and light electrical systems**

    + **Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining motors, gears, pumps, generators, and chillers**

    + **Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints**

    + **Strong communication and teamwork skills**

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience in **food manufacturing maintenance**

    + **Familiarity with packaging equipment** , **steam generators** , and **chillers**

    + **Project management or leadership experience**

    + **Welding and fabrication skills**

    + **Basic PLC knowledge**

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
