Job Title: Fabrication Technician

Job Description

This role involves handling day-to-day operations in the production of high-quality temperature-sensitive inserts. The technician is responsible for implementing and executing operator preventative maintenance tasks to support machines and completing production plans provided by the Supply Chain team to ensure on-time delivery. This position requires following instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions effectively.

Responsibilities

+ Fabricate sub-components to create sensor technologies as needed using various tools and machines.

+ Prepare production orders by picking components according to the bill of material and cutting raw materials to the specified length.

+ Assemble mechanical and electronic devices to form complete thermometers or subassembly components, including programming transmitters and using lasers.

+ Perform hand soldering and brazing of electronic components.

+ Conduct small-scale manual TIG welding.

+ Buff and sand completed temperature sensors.

+ Perform visual inspection and functional testing.

+ Maintain accurate inventory and notify logistics of adjustments or scrap.

+ Assist with cross-training employees on production processes.

+ Utilize computer applications to perform automated testing of devices and close production orders upon completion.

+ Use production and software systems to look up or enter information that supports the area.

Essential Skills

+ Ability to stand for the entirety of the shift.

+ High attention to detail with a focus on quality and producing quality parts.

+ Ability to read instructions and drawings for assembly.

+ Experience using hand and power tools.

+ Proficient in English reading, writing, and understanding.

+ Ability to work with assembly, blueprints, production, mechanical assembly, and general labor tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ TIG Welding experience is a plus.

+ Experience in soldering or brazing is advantageous.

Work Environment

The workplace operates in shifts, with the first shift from 6:45 AM to 3:30 PM and the second shift from 3:15 PM to 11:30 PM. The facility is extremely clean and organized, set up in production cells with temperature-controlled environments. Workers perform specific jobs to move small temperature products through the process, predominantly by hand, making it one of the top-tier manufacturing workplaces in terms of cleanliness.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenwood, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
