    Job Title: Press Brake Operator

    Job Description

    We are seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator to join our team. You will be responsible for making the metal framework for cabinets that house electrical switchgears and power distribution systems. This role involves forming and pressing metal by loading raw sheets into machines and operating both Manual and CNC Press Brake Machines.

    Responsibilities

    + Read and interpret blueprints to guide operations.

    + Measure and verify metal dimensions using tape measures and calipers.

    + Physically load large sheets of metal into machines.

    + Operate and adjust both Manual and CNC Press Brake Machines to make different punches on 11 gauge sheet metal.

    + Perform fast-paced production work, constantly loading and setting up sheets.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years of experience in CNC operation.

    + Proficiency in operating a Press Brake.

    + Experience with sheet metal work.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

    + Proficiency in using measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with laser operation, including fiber laser and CNC laser.

    + Knowledge of G&M code.

    + Experience with micrometers and laser cutters.

    Work Environment

     

    The work takes place in a medium-sized, clean, and organized shop. Though it is not climate-controlled, it features open bay doors and plenty of fans to maintain airflow. The production shop is very busy and fast-paced with around 15 people per shift, including machine operators, fabricators, QC staff, and material handlers. Safety gear such as steel-toed boots, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses are required. The night shift runs Monday through Friday from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with common work hours ranging from 50 to 60 hours per week.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
