Job Title: Receiving Clerk
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage the inbound container status, coordinate with carriers, and ensure the smooth flow of goods through our facility.
Responsibilities
+ Update and maintain the Inbound Container Status Report daily and email appropriate distribution by end of each workday.
+ Monitor Port Vessel/Container availability status and update Inbound Status Report and communicate as required.
+ Report and distribute the Work Load Report daily for containers required to unload, emailing it to the staffing agency and appropriate personnel.
+ Coordinate and schedule with carriers the receiving of Transfer Trailers and appointment times to unload.
+ Identify accurate Ti Hi requirements and pallet needs on the Work Load Report and work with staffing agency personnel to ensure special requirements are met when unloading containers.
+ Communicate the need to prioritize container unloading when products are required to ship the same day.
+ Verify quantities unloaded from Inbound Containers as reported on the Tally sheet against expected quantities, and coordinate with supervision for discrepancies.
+ Coordinate with supervision for the reporting and documentation of damaged freight.
+ Report Container receiving information into WMS accurately and timely, and print labels for Operations.
+ Complete the Inbound Freight Checklist/Sanitation Receiving Report for each container unloaded.
+ Maintain accurate filing of all receiving documents.
+ Perform Yard Check status of full and empty containers twice daily and report results to appropriate personnel.
+ Communicate and report containers required for FDA/USDA inspection, ensuring all pallets are marked appropriately and WMS is updated.
+ Coordinate the release of FDA/USDA freight through communication with agencies or company personnel.
+ Process customer returns in WMS, acknowledge receipt on the RGA Log, and report to appropriate personnel.
+ Report any customer problems or concerns immediately to the Warehouse Manager.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Essential Skills
+ Proficient in computer operation including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Detail-oriented with the ability to perform yard checks on incoming and outgoing loads.
+ Experience in shipping and receiving processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to schedule drop/pick-ups and receive loads.
+ Strong communication skills for coordinating with carriers and staffing agencies.

Work in a climate-controlled warehouse and distribution setting with consistent hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The position offers a professional and organized environment to support your career growth.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
