Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to oversee financial operations and ensure accurate reporting within our organization. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles to maintain compliance and support business objectives. Based in the Melville area, this in-office role will play a key role in managing financial processes and driving efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger to ensure data integrity.

• Prepare and review financial statements while ensuring compliance with auditing standards.

• Manage account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.

• Supervise the preparation of journal entries to support efficient financial operations.

• Collaborate with auditors during financial statement audits to ensure smooth processes.

• Develop and implement best practices for accounting procedures and internal controls.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff to enhance team performance.

• Analyze financial data to support strategic decision-making and business planning.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.

• Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger maintenance.

• Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation and auditing standards.

• Expertise in account reconciliation and resolving discrepancies.

• Demonstrated ability to manage and prepare accurate journal entries.

• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to lead and mentor teams effectively.

• Familiarity with accounting systems and software applications.
